Managing & Engaging in Difficult Discussions - 20 hours
Classes held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
1:00 - 3:00 from June 2nd to June 23rd.
This workshop contributes towards meeting the requirements of Laurier's University Teaching Certificate.
Whether you are communicating with your supervisor, your students, or your peers, the interpersonal and linguistic skills required to manage contentious discussions and conflict are crucial to success. Workshop activities will include teaching about a controversial topic, managing a classroom discussion, & engaging in role plays to resolve conflict.
By attending this workshop, you will be able to:
- teach and manage a classroom discussion with greater confidence;
- participate and observe the dynamics of classroom discussions with greater confidence;
- recognize causes of conflict & engage more productively in conflict resolution.
Participation in the Communication in the Internationalized Classroom workshop prior to taking this workshop is highly recommended.
